Wildfires – Combat the Risk
According to ISO's Property Claim Services® (PCS®) unit, insurers incurred more than $4 billion in wildfire losses during the past 10 years. Understanding and managing wildfire risk requires objective address-specific assessment. Verisk's FireLine provides multifactor scores that can help you manage wildfire risk by identifying relevant attributes (fuel, slope, access, and ember transport factors) for individual properties. In this session, you'll find out which regions of the country are at the highest risk for wildfires and why. You'll also learn about cutting-edge satellite imaging technologies used to assess wildfire risk.

Building Codes Matter: Tracking Adoption and Enforcement from State to State
Building code adoption and enforcement efforts can dramatically affect the way the buildings in a community behave and survive during natural disasters, fires — and everyday life. Many states have adopted building codes and instituted policies and procedures for their enforcement. Certain code editions include pivotal enhancements that can be important in determining the sustainability of buildings. So when were those enhancements in force in a given state? And what about states that don’t have statewide codes? In this seminar, you’ll find out why building code information should be a key component of your underwriting process.
