According to many estimates, this year's Atlantic hurricane
season will be substantially worse than average. That has risk
managers listening closely to what the forecasters have to say.
In this session, Dr. Phil Klotzbach, well known for his regular
hurricane forecasts from Colorado State's Tropical Meteorology
Project, will brief you on the latest hurricane season forecast
and the risks that face the insurance industry for the rest of
this year. Kyle Beatty, of ISO’s sister company AER, will
discuss ways your company can reduce its financial risk from
hurricanes.

Dr. Phil Klotzbach is a research scientist in the Department of Atmospheric
Science at Colorado State University. Since 2006, he has been the author of
CSU’s seasonal hurricane forecasts. Dr. Klotzbach has published research papers
in journals including Weather and Forecasting, the Journal of Climate, and the
Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.

Kyle Beatty is managing director of business development at ISO’s sister company
Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER). He leads the company’s development
and sales efforts for weather- and climate-related risk management and decision
support products and services. Mr. Beatty is an American Meteorological Society
(AMS) Certified Consulting Meteorologist and serves as chair of an AMS board
focused on private-sector meteorology.
